Wisconsin Democrats launched an attack on Governor Scott Walker this weekend implying he cares more about his personal political ambitions than Wisconsin.
“With such a lack of enthusiasm at home, it comes as no surprise that Scott Walker is taking his ‘Abandoning Wisconsin Families’ tour on the road to New Hampshire today to court Tea Party support for his presidential ambitions,” it read in part.
There’s only one problem. Gov. Walker wasn’t in New Hampshire over the weekend. Not enough close, in fact.
He was actually in Wisconsin, talking to voters and volunteers in a keynote address to the Manitowoc County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day lunch.
The Granite State played host to the Northeastern Republican Leadership Conference this weekend and it did include several prospective 2016 contenders. But if Walker was one of them, wouldn’t it have made sense for some news outlet, any news outlet, to have said so?
A tweet from the Wisconsin Democratic Party touting the press and slamming the governor’s excursion has since been deleted, but the press release is still up and running. A screenshot of the tweet can be viewed below:
