An article in today’s Politico explores the exciting and expanding field of potential GOP Vice Presidential candidates, and includes a name that is sure to create buzz across the Granite State: New Hampshire Junior Senator Kelly Ayotte. Politico’s Alex Burns writes, “It’s almost as though there is more excitement over the deep pool of vice presidential prospects than over the emerging roster of presidential candidates, which is largely composed of white, male, former and soon-to-be-former governors.”
Ayotte is named along with South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez as female Republican rising stars who could round out the ticket of a nominee who had difficulty connecting with women voters. Other potential Veeps mentioned include Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, and Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval.
