Florida Sen. Marco Rubio has now nailed down the date of his next visit to the first-in-the-nation primary state.
Rubio will be in the state on Monday, Feb. 23, as part of his nationwide tour for his new book, “American Dreams.” A source confirmed that date and said he will appear at the Barnes and Noble store, 1741 South Willow St., Manchester.
The New Hampshire Journal reported first, more than a week ago, that Rubio was tentatively scheduled to come to the state during the week of Feb. 23. That date has now been confirmed.
Rubio will also visit early primary and caucus states this month. He is scheduled to be in Iowa on Feb. 13, in Las Vegas, Nev., on Feb. 18 and in South Carolina on Feb. 19.
He appears headed toward a candidacy for President, having hired finance director and team recently for his “Team Marco 2016.” Rubio was in the state twice last year, at a fundraiser for the state Republican Party in the spring and then for an event for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Scott Brown in the fall.
Other potential candidates slated to come to New Hampshire this month include former New York Gov. George Pataki, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Maryland Gov. Bob Ehrlich. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is scheduled to appear in the state in March.
