Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney begins his march toward the presidency Saturday in a speaking appearance before 300 Republicans at the Carroll County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner.
The stakes are high.
Romney is the far-and-away frontrunner in New Hampshire. A recent NH Journal poll shows he has a wide lead over all other Republicans and is extremely popular among all groups of Republicans. What’s more, Romney earned the endorsement of popular State Senator and former Congressman Jeb Bradley on Friday. Bradley represents much of Carroll County. Bradley is the first of many high-profile endorsements Romney is expected to rollout in the coming weeks. What’s more, Carroll County is almost home to Romney, who spends a great deal of time at his home in Wolfeboro.
Sources tell NH Journal Romney’s speech will break no new ground and he will avoid discussion of his controversial health care plan, which some critics claim resembles ObamaCare.
