Portman to join Brown for stop at Hampstead coffee shop

Ohio U.S. Sen. and possible 2016 presidential contender Rob Portman will join Senate candidate Scott Brown for a retail campaign stop in Hampstead on Wednesday morning.

The Brown campaign says Portman and Brown will visit the BeanTowne Coffee House and Café at 10:15 a.m. before Brown campaigns Wednesday afternoon with 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney at Gilchrist Metal Fabricating in Hudson.

Brown and Portman will meet with local voters and deliver brief remarks.

Portman in recent years joined with Brown’s opponent, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, on energy efficiency legislation that failed in the Senate after a partisan tug-of-war over the Keystone XL Pipeline.

Last week, Brown campaigned with another possible GOP presidential hopeful, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, and on Thursday, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul will make several stops in the state, including one at the NHGOP field office adjacent to Brown’s campaign headquarters in Manchester.
