With the mid-term election just two weeks away and the presidential primary campaign on tap soon after, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has not only made numerous appearances in the first-primary state, but he has also directed his political action committee to write checks to the state GOP and 24 candidates.
Sources tell the New Hampshire Journal Paul’s RAND PAC this week distributed checks totaling $30,000.
Sources say $5,000 went to the Republican State Committee, which was in addition to $10,000 RANDPAC donated to the party last year.
The PAC also contributed $2,500 each to Senate candidate Scott Brown and congressional candidates Marilinda Garcia and Frank Guinta, as well as $1,000 to candidate for governor Walt Havenstein.
The remaining is $16,500 was divided among 20 candidates for the state Senate and Executive Council:
Incumbent Executive Councilors Chris Sununu and Joe Kenney and incumbent state Sens. Andy Sanborn, Russell Prescott, Sam Cataldo, Sharon Carson, Jeanie Forrester, Jeb Bradley and Senate President Chuck Morse.
Also, Executive Council candidates Bob Burns and David Wheeler, and state Senate candidates, Eddie Edwards, Regina Birdsell, Kathy Lauer-Rago, Lydia Dube-Harman, Dorrie Hohensee, Gary Daniels, Eileen Landies, Jerry Little and George Lambert.
