Ovide scores Jim Forsythe endorsement
State Sen. Jim Forsythe today became the seventh state senator to endorse Ovide Lamontagne for Governor.
In a letter to supporters, Forsythe touted Ovide’s experience in the state’s public, private and non-profit sectors and says Ovide will provide the leadership New Hampshire needs at a critical time.
From the letter:
“Ovide is a business leader who values the free market and understands government does not create jobs. He supports the Right to Work and will fight to reduce business taxes and cut bureaucratic red tape. He has taken the pledge to veto any broad based sales or income tax and his record as a consistent conservative gives us reason to trust he will keep his word to preserve the New Hampshire Advantage…
“As a New Hampshire native with decades of experience in the state’s private, pubic, and non-profit sectors, Ovide knows the Granite State and would provide the leadership we need at a critical time. He will preserve the work of the last two years and keep the budget balanced by containing spending and reducing the size of government. He will push for further reforms to strengthen local control, improve government efficiency, and make the state a friendlier place to live and do business.”
“Sen. Forsythe is a veteran, an entrepreneur and business owner, an educator and a public servant. He represents the very best of New Hampshire and I am proud to have earned his endorsement,” said Lamontagne in a statement, “In the legislature, Jim was a leader in the school choice movement and a tireless advocate for smaller government and individual freedom. He also proved himself to be an effective political leader, guiding Congressman Paul to an impressive second place finish in this year’s New Hampshire primary. I am grateful to have Sen. Forsythe in our corner and look forward to working with him over the coming months.”
