OSRAM SYLVANIA to celebrate its groundbreaking work on the Ford F-150 lighting system
HILLSBOROUGH — OSRAM SYLVANIA’s annual Hillsborough Employee Appreciation Day on Thursday, Oct. 9, will celebrate the highly anticipated 2015 Ford F-150, the first truck of its kind to feature a full LED forward lighting system.
The technology, assembled in the OSRAM SYLVANIA Hillsborough plant, is the best-selling truck in America thanks to OSRAM, Tier 1 supplier Flex-N-Gate and DBM Reflex.
OSRAM SYLVANIA is one of the few automotive light source manufacturers remaining in the United States and its partnership with Ford enabled the company to hire and train new employees, invest in the facility, and to develop new product and new processes.
OSRAM SYLVANIA will also honor the community by donating a 2015 Ford F-150 to the Hillsborough Fire Department. The fire department is made up of full-time staff and resident volunteers, many of whom are employees at the Hillsborough plant. Emergency responders typically drive late at night or early in the morning, so having clear visibility on the road is crucial.
Representatives from OSRAM will talk about the importance of keeping automotive lighting innovation and technology at the forefront of the industry globally, nationally and locally.
The day’s events will feature an announcement and presentation of the new truck to the fire department, a 2015 Ford F-150 “demo” vehicle, comments from employees about why they are proud and excited to work with Ford and a tour of the Hillsborough plant to view where and how the 2015 Ford F-150 LED forward lighting system is produced.
The event will take place at the OSRAM SYLVANIA plant, 275 W. Main St., Hillsborough, at 10 a.m.
