Kimball distances himself from blogger’s remarks about Nashua Republicans, women
Seacoast businessman Jack Kimball is distancing himself from his most vocal supporter, a blogger, today after a story the blogger posted attacking Juliana Bergeron drew angry rebukes from Nashua Republicans and he used a sexist remark to refer to a woman.
“Skip Murphy plays no role in the Kimball for Chair campaign and would play no role in a Kimball Chairmanship. As you know, he is an independent blogger and has no ties to our campaign,” said Jeff Chidester on behalf of Jack Kimball.
“As for any derogatory remarks made by this blogger, as we have just stated, he is in no way connected to the Kimball for Chairman campaign and he alone is responsible for his remarks,” Chidester continued.
Murphy posted a widely disputed, second-hand account of a recent Nashua Republican City Committee meeting. In the story, Murphy attempted to portray Kimball rival Bergeron and her supporters as boorish and entitled. The story has been discounted by people who actually attended the meeting (Murphy did not) and was widely panned.
Murphy also twice referred to NH Journal’s Amelia Chasse as “a skirt” in a subsequent post on his blog Granite Grok.
The Kimball campaign’s comments notwithstanding, NH Journal can report that Murphy often travels with Kimball and has even sat in on and shot video of Kimball’s closed-door radio interviews, duties usually reserved for communications staff. One of these videos is prominently displayed on the Kimball for Chairman website.
