Seeking to fulfill a campaign trail promise of getting unemployed Granite Staters back to work, 1st District Congressman Frank Guinta organized a job fair today in Rochester. Over 240 job seekers attended the fair where they had the opportunity to meet with representatives from 32 area employers.
The Rochester job fair is the second of a series of job-centric events organized by Rep. Guinta’s office; a similar event held in Derry last week also boasted a successful turnout.
The Congressman outlined plans to organize industry-specific fairs, including an innovators conference and manufacturer’s summit, and a special job fair aimed at returning military veterans in the near future.
Watch what Congressman Guinta had to say about his efforts to get New Hampshire citizens back to work:
With an unemployment rate of 4.8 percent, job creation is a priority among all New Hampshire voters heading into the 2012 election season. Congressman Guinta clearly recognizes the issue’s importance; he told job fair attendees, “Hopefully with everybody’s help we will continue to move this economy forward and we will put New Hampshire first.”
