Hassan gets hit with 10 and 11 in today’s ‘Maggie’s Tax of the Day’
For tax and fee increases that Democratic gubernatorial nominee Maggie Hassan backed during her time in the state Senate, today’s “Tax of the Day” series offers up two for the price of one.
From an email sent by Republican competitor Ovide Lamontagne’s campaign:
Maggie Hassan SUPPORTED increasing dam application fees as well as fees for annual dam registration (OTP on HB664, 6/7/07).
As the Lamontagne campaign notes, over 75 percent of New Hampshire dams are privately owned. The HB 664 vote hiked the cost of a $250 dam application fee to “between $2,000 and $4,000 depending on the size of the dam” while simultaneously while raising registration fees across the board; the least of which was 50 percent on large dam owners.
