Hassan clears 50 percent in hypothetical match-ups

A campaign for re-election isn’t in the cards until next year, but early polling data gives first-term Governor Maggie Hassan the edge against all comers.

According to Politico’s Morning Score, a poll set to be released later today by Public Policy Polling (PPP) will put her above 50 percent against all-comers, testing three hypothetical match-ups.

“She’d lead 52-38 against state Senate Majority Leader Jeb Bradley, 51-35 against Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas, 54-36 against former Rep. Frank Guinta and 52-32 against former state Rep. Kevin Smith,” read the blurb in the morning email from Politico.

Curiously enough, Chris Sununu, who’s been making noise with his acknowledgement that he’s considering a run, wasn’t surveyed.

Hassan’s personal numbers are in the same vicinity, with 50 percent of Granite State residents surveyed giving her favorable marks, while 31 percent expressed disapproval.
