Marilinda Garcia is in.
The Republican state representative will formally launch a much-anticipated bid to unseat Democratic Rep. Annie Kuster Wednesday, with a press conference in Concord and the support of colleagues in the legislature.
A release pegged the announcement time as coming immediately following the state House’s lunch break.
Garcia, 30, was named a rising star by the Republican National Committee last year. She declared she intended to challenge Kuster in November, and was immediately met with a sexist smear from Democratic state Rep. Peter Sullivan, which many onlookers pointed to as proof the party was nervous about her prospects of flipping New Hampshire’s 2nd district to a Republican seat.
