Garcia talks Tea Party, abortion, terrorism, guns in radio ‘debate’ that wasn’t

MANCHESTER — There was an empty chair next to Republican 2nd District candidate Marilinda Garcia in the studio of WGIR –AM radio Tuesday morning.

Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Ann Kuster had turned down “New Hampshire Today” host Jack Heath’s invitation to debate Garcia live. Kuster earlier this month announced that she had accepted two television debates and two candidates’ forums.

Without Kuster on hand, Garcia for nearly an hour answered questions posed by Heath and New Hampshire Journal News Editor John DiStaso on topics ranging from charges by Kuster and other Democrats charges that she is an “extreme” follower of the Tea Party agenda to abortion, and from foreign policy to the Second Amendment. She also discussed whether she will support House Speaker John Boehner for Speaker if she is elected and if the GOP holds the House majority.
