Club for Growth’s $750K TV, direct mail ads hit Kuster on taxes

CONCORD – The conservative fiscal policy-oriented Club for Growth’s political action committee on Monday said it is beginning a $750,000 TV and direct mail campaign for Republican 2nd District U.S. House candidate Marilinda Garcia.

The ad calls Democratic incumbent Rep. Ann Kuster a “hypocrite” on taxes because it contends, she supported her taxes in Washington while being delinquent on about $40,000 of her own property taxes over a three-year period.

When the issue arose in 2013, Kuster quickly paid what at that point was about $11,000 in past due bills and apologized.

“Annie Kuster wants higher taxes for us, but she doesn’t pay her own,” said Club for Growth president Chris Chocola. The group has endorsed Garcia.
