Campaign notes: Perry adds NHGOP event; McCain to stump for Brown; Bass backs Walt

CONCORD — Texas Gov. Rick Perry has added a third event to his schedule next week in New Hampshire.

The potential 2016 presidential candidate will be the featured speaker at a New Hampshire Republican Party breakfast “Victory Rally” at the party’s Stratham field office on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 23.

Previously announced were Perry appearances on the evening of Friday, Aug. 22, at a Americans for Prosperity Foundation event in Manchester focusing on the release of a business tax study and at the Merrimack County Republican Committee’s picnic on the afternoon of Aug. 23 at the home of former Sen. Gordon Humphrey and his wife, Patty, in Chichester.




Also Tuesday, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Scott Brown’s campaign announced that 2008 GOP presidential nominee and Arizona Sen. John McCain will attend a town hall meeting, open to the public, with Brown on Monday, Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Pinkerton Academy in Derry. The focus will be on foreign policy.



And GOP candidate for governor Walt Havenstein announced the backing of former U.S. Rep. Charlie Bass.
