A new public event has been added to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s schedule when he arrives in New Hampshire on Friday for his first visit of the 2016 cycle.
The New Hampshire Journal has learned that the Republican likely presidential hopeful will visit Integra Biosciences in Hudson at 3 p.m. on Friday for a tour and a business roundtable with members of the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce.
Outgoing president Chris Williams is expected to facilitate the event, which will be hosted by the chamber. Integra Biosciences develops state-of-the-art laboratory tools.
It is likely to be Bush’s first stop of his two-day visit to the state, although the full schedule has not yet been finalized. On Friday evening, he will appear at a fundraiser reception for U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta at the Manchester Country Club in Bedford and then attend a “meet and greet” house party at the home of former NHGOP chairman Fergus Cullen and his wife, Jenny, in Dover.
Bush will also be in the state on Saturday, but so far no public events for that day have been disclosed.
Williams said that during the past eight years that he has been with the chamber, “We have always made our organization available to presidential candidates, Democrats and Republicans, who want to meet with local business leaders and get an idea from them of what is on their minds. It gives the candidates an opportunity to state their positions on important issues.”
“This is the first opportunity for this type of event of the 2015 cycle and we are thrilled to begin with Governor bush here.”
Williams said he expects about 20 area business leaders to participate.
“Nashua and the surrounding area is a hotbed of cutting edge companies,” Williams said. “It is on the progressive forefront of high tech industry and Integra is a good example of many of those companies in the high-tech field in and around Nashua.”
