Robert “Bob” Burns announced his intent to run for the District 4 Executive Council seat Wednesday, signaling his intentions with a press release announcement.
The seat is currently held by Chris Pappas, who’s faced Burns before. The two squared off in 2010 for Hillsborough County Treasurer, which saw Burns knock off Pappas, the incumbent.
“We need to ensure that the Governor of New Hampshire has the counsel of wise, independent people who will carry on the proud New Hampshire traditions of liberty, justice, and the promotion of our unique economic advantage,” read the press release in part. “”It is unfortunate that Chris Pappas is more beholden to lobbyists, special interest and the establishment of the Democratic Party.”
Burns, a Republican, resides in Manchester. He served as national committeeman for the New Hampshire Young Republicans from 2008-2013 and currently is the New England Regional for the National Young Republicans Federation.
He was also the District 4 Republican nominee in 2012.
