New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Raymond Buckley today was unanimously elected to an unprecedented fourth term as president of the Association of State Democratic Chairs, an arm of the Democratic National Committee that provides resources to state parties.
The election came at a morning meeting of the ASDC as part of the DNC’s winter meetings in Washington. Buckley was first elected to the position in January of 2009. Since its creation in the late 1960’s, no one has been elected to a fourth two-year term to lead the ASDC, the NHDP said in a statement.
As ASDC president, Buckley remains a vice chair of the DNC.
“I am humbled and honored to serve as President of the Association of State Democratic Chairs,” said Buckley. ””As president of the ASDC, I will continue to work with our dedicated members to provide the training and resources necessary to build a robust party infrastructure in every precinct, town, county and state.
“2016 is shaping up to be a great year for Democrats in New Hampshire and across the country – if we do the ground work this year. I’m excited to work hard together now so we can celebrate great victories next November,” Buckley said.
