Should Scott Brown choose to mount a challenge to Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen in New Hampshire, he’d already be tied with her.
That’s according to a new poll released this week by Purple Strategies, a nonpartisan firm, that pegs the two with 44 percent support each. Brown led Shaheen by 9 percentage points amongst independent voters and 51-40 with men, but Shaheen held a 46-38 percent lead with women voters.
Just two weeks ago a separate poll showed the former Massachusetts senator trailing Shaheen by just 3 points, 46-43.
Brown sold his Massachusetts home and moved his family to New Hampshire late last year, and though no final decision has been made, he’s done nothing to shirk rampant speculation he may enter the race.
