Mike Biundo, the campaign manager for Republican Frank Guinta’s successful First Congressional District bid, sounds an awful lot like a candidate for Chairman of the New Hampshire Republican State Committee.
“I’m humbled by your encouragement of me to run for NHGOP Chair,” Biundo wrote to his Facebook friends on Sunday night. “Your comments and messages have me intrigued. We must stay true to our party platform and focus on electing leaders that will fight for the fiscally responsible government NH Citizens deserve. I will talk with the other candidates, my family, and friends and make a decision soon.”
There’s even a Mike Biundo for NH GOP Chairman Facebook Fan Page that quotes Biundo saying:
“A chairman needs to raise money, respect the grassroots, interact with media, run an effective get out the vote operation (GOTV) & ensure that our party stands for what we promised. I say this not because I want to run but because the issues we fought for are so important. We must emerge from this process as a strong & united party.”
Biundo would join Cheshire Republican Chair Juliana Bergeron in the race for Chairman, should he get in. While Bergeron is current chairman John Sununu’s handpicked successor, Biundo would almost certainly be endorsed by Rep.-elect Guinta.
