As NH Journal reported long before anyone else, Seacoast businessman and former candidate for U.S. Senate candidate Bill Binnie is using the old WNDS studio out of Derry as the flagship of his looming New Hampshire television empire. The Portsmouth Herald is reporting that the sale has officially gone through and Binnie is now the proud owner of WZMY, which used to be WNDS.
The station will now be called WBIN. You read that right. WBIN.
Binnie’s new venture will position him as a major player in New Hampshire’s 2012 first-in-the-nation presidential sweepstakes and makes him a competitor for advertising dollars against Manchester’s WMUR and possibly even the New Hampshire Union Leader.
